Vi köpte vår första cavaliervalp 1964 eftersom vi ville bota vår hundrädda dotter Sheena som blev biten av en tax som bebis. Vår  ”plan” fungerade bra, och även om cavalieren ifråga inte var någon utställningshund så tränade vi lydnad med henne och blev även intresserade av utställningar.

På 1960- och 70-talen skaffade vi ett flertal cavalierer av alla fyra färgerna och vi ställde ut med varierande resultat. I början fick jag mycket hjälp av Susan Burgess, Pam Turle, Daphne Murray och även Mrs. Pitt. På något sätt blev jag mer och mer involverad i den mer administrativa delen av hundvärlden, speciellt inom The Cavalier Club. Detta innebar att jag hade mindre tid för att ställa ut och uppnå något stort med mina hundar. Under 2004 började vi dock ställa ut igen och sen dess har vi aktivt matchat Lochbuie Billy Elliot med viss framgång, och vi ställer nu även ut den unga tiken Lochbuie Geordie.

Jag dömde första gången 1974, och 1979 dömde jag första gången en officiell utställning. Sedan dess har jag haft intressanta domaruppdrag i Storbritannien, Sverige, Finland, Norge, Australien, New Zealand och U.S.A. Det var en stor ära att få döma tikarna på Crufts 1998 och jag blev överförtjust när jag blev tillfrågad att döma hanarna på Crufts 2004 (även om det var som ersättare för Barbara Stanley som tyvärr insjuknade en vecka innan Crufts).

Jag vill tacka Cavaliersällskapet för den stora äran att bli inbjuden att döma er huvudutställning i Härjarö den 2 juni, och jag är spänd av förväntan inför evenemanget.

We bought our first Cavalier puppy in 1964 in desperation to cure our daughter, Sheena, of a terrible fear of all dogs since being bitten by a Dachshund as a toddler. This proved very successful and although she was no show specimen, we worked her in obedience and became drawn into the world of shows.  

In the late 1960's and 70's we seemed to gather quite a few Cavaliers of all four colours and enjoyed the show scene very much with varying amounts of success. I was helped enormously originally by Susan Burgess, Pam Turle, Daphne Murray and also Mrs. Pitt.   Somehow I became involved more with the administration side of the dog game particularly with The Cavalier Club. This meant that there was less time for showing and I was never really able to seriously campaign a dog to great things. During 2004 we resumed showing and since then have been actively campaigning Lochbuie Billy Elliot with some notable success, and more recently we are showing a young blenheim bitch, Lochbuie Geordie.

I judged my first show in 1974 and my first championship show in 1979. Since then I have had some very interesting judging appointments in the U.K. and Overseas including Sweden (3 times), Finland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and four times in the U.S.A.   It was a great honour to be invited to judge the Bitches at Crufts in 1998 and I was thrilled to be asked to judge the Dogs at Crufts in 2004 (albeit in the place of Barbara Stanley who was unfortunately taken ill a week before she should have judged).

I should like to thank The Swedish Cavalier Club very much indeed for the honour of being invited to judge at your Championship Show in Härjarö on 2^nd June and look forward to the event with great anticipation.
